Sallie Mae

Just got a letter from Sallie Mae. Naturally, this arrived on a Friday afternoon when I have to go the whole weekend without being able to call anyone to get this fixed.

Your request to have your loan discharged because of a school closure has been denied because:

THE SCHOOL YOU ATTENDED CLOSED 030601. YOUR LAST
DATE OF ATTENDANCE WAS 101901. PER GUARANTOR
GUIDELINES YOU WERE NOT ENROLLED WITHIN 90 DAYS OF
SCHOOL CLOSURE. FOR THAT REASON YOU ARE NOT
ELIGIBLE FOR LOAN DISCHARGE REVIEW. ANY QUESTIONS
PLEASE CONTACT YOUR GUARANTOR AGENCY.

How about Dr. Who? How is it I was attending a school seven months after it no longer existed?

Uggh, Sallie Mae...I can relate.

It's a form letter with a typo in it

Someone spent 20 seconds verifying information and based on that, decided I had to pay over $6,000.

What irritates em the most is where they say "if you have a problem with this - call someone else"

Once again, looks like it will be ok

Apparently this was a result (as I thought) of the school closing overnight and not informing anybody of anything. But I'm not giving them any more credit than realizing that was the problem.
